What I'm Watching

Just for the record, all photos in this entry are from the BBC America website and ITV website.

MI-5--Seasons 1 and half of 3 (season 2 was checked out!)
I'm a real sucker for British drama and mystery, but I don't have BBC America. Plus, I'm not good at watching tv on a regular basis. My friends have shows they watch faithfully every week. I can't do that. I like to get it when it comes out on dvd and watch the whole season in a night or two. And I particularly hate cliffhangers. MI-5 season 1 ends with a horrendous cliffhanger. I've noticed that MI-5 gets rid of lots of their main characters from season to season. That's a bit of a bummer because I like the cast from Season 1.

Foyle's War--Seasons 1 and 2
If I had to go back in time and live in a certain time period and place, I think it would be during the Blitz in England. For some reason I love that era. Maybe it's all those victory gardens. Or the clothes people wore. Or the cars. Or the idea of everyone pulling together to defeat a common enemy and living on the edge of total disaster, not knowing which way things will turn out. So Foyle's War has all that plus it is a British mystery and those are my favorite things to watch.

Wire in the Blood--Season 3
In both the Inspector Morse series and this one, the set producers often put the main character against a blue wall that sets off their eyes. The actors who play Dr. Tony Hill and Inspector Morse both have very blue eyes, and I've noticed there is always a blue wall somewhere in the episode that the character ends up standing in front of. Wire in the Blood is violent and grisly, but the main character is quirky and a bit socially inept. My kind of character.
