The almost falling apart birdfeeder that I keep thinking of covering in mosaics so it will last forever. I got it super cheap at Big Lots one year and keep swearing to do something to preserve it.
Sadie picked out these lovely little begonias at the flower store. We were trying to lighten up a little spot in the shade by the patio. For some reason I've never been a big fan of begonia. I think because they are annuals here. It seemed a lot of money to spend for something to die at the end of the season. I like to grow annuals from seed because I am basically a cheapskate at heart. Buying begonias seemed terribly extravagant. Now I guess I have to tote their sorry asses in over the winter and try to keep them alive until next year.
My shamelessly blue hydrangea. It just went crazy this year with blossoms. When it gets dry it looks all wilted and whooped up and I think it is surely a goner. Miraculously it perks back up every time. I have one in the backyard, too, but I'm thinking of moving it to the frontyard.

The garden fairy, lounging on the job as usual. It's so hard to get good help these days. Worse than that, she's consorting with the birds!
This is my Millionaire eggplant bush that is producing like crazy and come to find out that no one in the family except me likes eggplant! Fancy that.
It has some nasty ass thorns and I got a wicked stab the first time I picked one. Now I cut the little buggers off with scissors.
Purple coneflower, a volunteer from last year. I almost dug it out for a weed (which really is nothing more than a plant in the wrong place, as someone much more tolerant than I once said).
These are the flowers Sam picked at the flower shop. What good taste the child has! We put them on a hook by the gate to the vegetable garden.
